The Singaporean government plans to provide a wide range of additional services to its inhabitants in 2024. According to a January announcement by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) of Singapore, around two million citizens of that country would receive the Seniors’ Bonus and top-ups to their Central Provident Fund (CPF) MediSave account in February 2024.

What is Senior Bonus in Singapore?
For three years, from 2023 to 2025, qualified Singaporean citizens who are 55 years of age or older can receive cash awards ranging from $600 to $900 under the Seniors Bonus plan. AP Seniors’ Bonus is intended to provide lower-income seniors who meet the eligibility requirements—those who are 55 years of age or older.
The AP Cash program is exclusively available to Singaporean nationals. There are no perks available to dual citizens. These reimbursements are a component of the set of AP policies that were previously disclosed in Budget 2022.
The AP consists of cash payments, refunds, Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers, and MediSave top-ups. Its goal is to assist Singaporeans in weathering a period of higher inflation and lessen the burden of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate rise.

Senior Bonus Payout Date
Payments for qualified AP Cash beneficiaries will be made starting in December 2023 and ending in December 2025. Processing of the Senior Bonus payment this year will take place during February 5–23, 2024.
- The payment will be completed on February 5, 2024, if your NRIC and PayNow are already connected.
- Please contact your bank before January 26, 2024, if your NRIC is not yet connected to PayNow, so that the connection may be made. The money will then be credited on February 13, 2024, to your bank account.
- By January 26, 2024, anyone without a bank account can update their bank information by using the government’s e-services. The money will then be credited on February 23, 2024, using GovCash.
Therefore, think about connecting your NRIC to PayNow to accelerate the receiving of your rewards.
Who is Eligible for Senior Bonus?
Please make sure you meet these requirements in order to be eligible for the AP Seniors’ Bonus:
- In addition to being at least 55 years old, you must be a Singaporean citizen.
- For the Year of Assessment (YA) of the Distribution Year, you may deduct up to $34,000 from your Assessable Income (AI) for income that you earned in the Disbursement Year.
- Maintain the property’s Annual Value (AV) below $21,000 for the Disbursement Year 2023 and $25,000 for the Disbursement Years 2024 and 2025, as indicated by your NRIC as of July 31 of the preceding year.
- You must not be the owner of many properties.

How do you claim it?
